We are usually at the Lowe family reunion for the 4th of July, since the reunion was a week early this year we were home. It was exciting to be part of all the festivities, so we celebrated all weekend long. We went to Freedom days on Friday. The kids made crafts (which Bayes used as teething toys), got their face painted, listened to bagpipers, and most important got snow cones.
On Saturday we went to a friends' house and had a barbecue. We ate, lounged in the hammock, dads and kids had a little soccer game, watched the Stadium of Fire from their yard, and wrapped it up with some root-beer floats. Not too shabby of a evening if you ask me.

On Monday we started our day off early by riding our bikes to the Provo High School at 6:30 to see them launch the hot air balloons. It was a bummer when they didn't launch them because of the weather, but it was still neat to see them up. The kids both loved it; Braddock loved seeing Smokey the Bear, Storm Troopers, and Ronald McDonald there. However, Bayes was a little disappointed that she didn't get to take a balloon home, maybe next year.

We heard the parade in Provo was a little insane and we needed to set out a blanket at 5:00 in the morning to get a spot. So that is what we did, and we still almost didn't get a spot, crazy. Was it worth it to sit in the hot sun for hours, I'm not sure; but we will probably do it again.

After the parade and of course a family nap (well I take that back, Scott went to work for a while, the rest of us slept) we went to buy a few fireworks for Braddock. Before dark we enjoyed the 'must haves' as a kid: smoke bombs, growing snakes, and pop its. When it started to get dark all the neighbors came out and did fireworks together. It was a lot of fun, and I hope we can do it again next year. Side note, after fireworks were done one of the neighbors did tricks with fire on the ends of a chain. Pretty Exciting.
